In other news, about a year ago today I got over my depression about the Forbidden Comment Threads just in time for Christmas, and in fact, got over it for the longest period of time so far; in fact, at the time I'd thought I'd gotten over it completely. But now I'm not only still depressed about it about half of the time, I'm also depressed about anything that even vaguely reminds me of the Forbidden Comment Threads (and now, many more things fall under this category), and just as much as when the Forbidden Comment Threads were actually happening. So I don't see myself nearly overcoming it again this year. I'll probably be happier on Christmas Day, but aside from the fact that I'm still not depressed every moment of my life, that's it. :(

Thanks for ruining my life, [livejournal.com profile] asperger. And commenters in [livejournal.com profile] news. And the Facebook group I Have a LiveJournal!. And too many more things to name.

Sum up YOUR 2011!
matt1993: (Default)
I've had a LOT of homework lately. That's why I haven't been on LJ in a while - I didn't have the time until just now. To make matters worse, our air card for high-speed Internet broke, so now we're having to resort to dial-up, which means that while using my computer, I have to switch back and forth between two uncomfortable positions: sitting on the floor, and laying on my bed looking down at my computer that's still on the floor but now has the screen upside-down so I can read it more easily. I have to type upside-down in the latter position, too, which means I type WAY slower. But at least it looks cool to scroll up and down like that :)

Several links I've been meaning to post for awhile:

Farmville for Dummies? Really?

A candy heart with an adult message? Really²?

A toilet video game system? Really³?

Shooting teenagers for being too mouthy? Really⁴?

And finally, as usual, my progress with my procrastination New Year's Resolution:

Randomly post into your random journal
matt1993: (afer ventus or the river sings backwards)
I was at http://www.7is7.com/otto/countdclock.html making a countdown of how much time I can spend not working on userpics or MSL today and still fulfill my goal of one hour working on userpics and/or MSL for today. I changed the text color to #206113 just to see what that color would look like, and as it turns out, at the time I typed that in, the number of seconds I had left was a 4-digit number beginning with 206.

206t to your journal!
matt1993: (enya box)
Three different 206's have shown up today:

- I was thinking about getting a snack, and I happened to look at the clock and it was 2:05 PM, so I waited until it changed to 2:06 to leave the room to get it. (Granted, it was kinda intentional, but it didn't take that long for it to change to 2:06, so I probably would've gotten my snack at 2:06 anyway.)
- I've recently made a program on my calculator that helps me decide what homework to work on first by dividing what I put as the relative difficulty of each homework assignment (with 1 being the difficulty of a math problem) by how many hours I have to work on it.* At one point, for studying for my economics test next Monday, this turned out to be 2.069800282. Even more interesting is the fact that just before I ran the program that time, I had randomly thought about what it would be like if, once I made a PrtSc Land-styled version of this userpic next PrtSc Land Day, Schrödinger's Enya commented on it.
- I'm reading Frankenstein for English class, and I read page 206 today.

Speaking of homework, I've had a LOT of it lately. :(

And now, back to your regularly scheduled pessimism: my New Year's resolutions!

←Week 3 Week 5→

Stupid things one )

Procrastination one )

*The formula is different if I'm at school, because then it'd be best to work on short assignments first so I don't have to take them home. In that case, I have it multiply instead of divide, then take the reciprocal of the result.

In 2011, matt1993 resolves to...
Keep my apocalypse clean.
Spend less time on mario.
Drink four glasses of math every day.
Volunteer to spend time with weird dreams.
Take evening classes in gamecube.
Admit my true feelings to erm_dreams.

For the record, I've tried cleaning my apocalypse before, but when I put my 666 stuff with my clocks showing irregular times, I accidentally spilled my 666-flavored water on them and short-circuited them. And then my frozen pets melted on them, too. I had to ask The Back of Us for new ones.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, matt1993 sent to me...
Twelve jynxgirls drumming
Eleven erm_dreams piping
Ten adreams_tellers a-leaping
Nine x-files dancing
Eight glitches a-milking
Seven screenshots a-swimming
Six calculus a-laying
Five physi-i-i-ics
Four computers
Three inside jokes
Two weird dreams
...and a mario in a christianity.

What are your New Year's resolutions? Do you think you'll stick to any of them? If so, for how long?

Answer View Answers

I have two this year:

1) To do, on average, less than four stupid things per day (i.e. 1,459 or less throughout the year). And yes, [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien, I know everyone does stupid things, but I decided I want to see if I actually do so more often than most people like it always seems like. Anyway, I'll probably be able to keep this one until January 3.
2) To work on one or more of my various semi-creative projects (i.e. new LJ userpics, Moya's Space Log [For anyone that's reading this from the recent answers page, that's a story I tried to write for NaNoWriMo that's based on Super Mario Galaxy 2 but with Enya and Moya joining the Mario Bros. It's in a custom friends group, so comment here if you want to read it], Ours Will You 1-Up [which sadly has been under new management for over a year now], etc.) at least an hour (if more than one project, at least an hour altogether) a day for at least 317 days of the year (giving me 4 days per month, a little less than a day per week, to procrastinate or have an unreasonable amount of homework). I'll probably be able to keep this one until January 5.

Procrastinate reposting this entry

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
