Last week, as part of an assignment in Speech class, I rewatched The Mummy and watched The Ring for the first time.
Turns out that my prediction here was actually wrong - The Ring is, in fact, a lot scarier than the parody of it on Annoying Orange.
But you know what's even more terrifying than both combined?
A horror movie I watched yesterday called Worse than the Forbidden Comment Threads.
Have any of you heard of it? It's the sequel to that one movie about the guy who reads a cursed flame war that makes him start seeing nightmarish visions of his friends misinterpreting everything he's ever said and hating him for it, and seemingly, the only way for him to get rid of the visions is to make a list of everything he's said and done that might be misinterpreted and post that to his LiveJournal in friends-only entries.
I found both that one and the sequel REALLY disturbing... It's almost impossible to remember that either of them is just a movie. Maybe it's just because the main character looks kind of like me. Actually, come to think of it, he looks almost exactly like me... and he even has a lot of interests in common with me: same celebrity crush, same favorite video games...
Even the phrase "Forbidden Comment Threads" sounds familiar for some reason... Didn't I hear it somewhere before about three years ago? I remember thinking up a phrase kind of like it that had something to do with a--

Uhhh...
Guys...
...
I...
I just remembered...
The first one in that series was no horror movie...
I... I think I remember... the Forbidden Comment Threads...
...actually happening...
...as part of my own life...
...
I don't think the sequel was just a movie either...
...
There really is...
...something that's probably worse than the Forbidden Comment Threads...
...and I read it yesterday...

Okay, now I'm way too scared to even care whether or not going from actual horror movies to a controversy that I pretended was a horror movie is too sudden of a topic jump...

Over the past week or so, my depression about the Forbidden Comment Threads, my ability to focus, my common sense, and my ability to speak without stumbling over words have all steadily gotten worse.
You know I've said how if I end up with too many creative vortexes stuck in my head at once, I might end up regressing? I think it's actually happening now, except most likely because of the Forbidden Comment Threads instead. I probably don't have much time left...
On some more positive notes:
( - SIX new quizzes!! )
- This is my 900th entry!!! At least it is if you include my glossary. If you don't, then my next entry (whatever it happens to be) will be the 900th.
- I changed the "# comments" and "Post a comment" text in my journal to say "I glued # blenders to my face" and "Is it Saturday night already?!" (both of which are a Garfield reference or - perhaps more famously - a Square Root of Minus Garfield reference). I've been considering changing that text ever since I took Ours Will You 1-Up down and thus made "I'm #-Up"/"Will me 1-Up" stand out as oddly-phrased. (Actually, it probably stood out like that even while OWY1U was up.) And now I finally did! I also changed the current mood text to "This mood coming through", another Garfield/SROMG reference.
Glue this entry to your journal! (well, probably not all, but maybe part of it)

Sat, Jan. 8th, 2011 18:02School has been pretty good so far - there hasn't been very much homework yet :) Unfortunately, that will probably change within a week or two :(
( Various things that happened )
I'm gonna post my weekly progress with my New Year's resolutions every Saturday.

I think I did pretty well on both of my finals today.
I finished my English test, but sadly, only because I stayed in class for 20 extra minutes. :(
I felt SO awkward giving my speech, though. Y'see, normally I write the notecards for my speech in my shorthand (because I don't know the official shorthand, so I make up my own). However, I've recently added some new symbols to my shorthand - any word that, when translated to Spanish, sounds like an English letter is replaced with that letter with a tilde (~) over it (as well as an accent in the case of "what" to distinguish it from "that", since in Spanish, those are "qué" and "que", respectively). Since I hadn't been using these as long, it was harder to read them, so I had to look at my notecards most of the time. Though, since everyone in the class says I did really well, apparently I did...
Tomorrow is my Spanish exam. All I have to do for it is write at least 100 words about almost anything in English beforehand (which I have) and translate it to Spanish in class. Shouldn't be too hard :)

Well, my midterms began today.
Government - For our Government midterm (or technically final, since we only have it one semester), we pretended to be the House of Representatives and the Senate, came up with one House bill and one Senate bill yesterday, and today we had a mock debate on which to pass. I had trouble coming up with a point to make that someone else hadn't already made; I only managed to do so once. :(
Bible - Our "midterm" was just to write a little about what we liked and didn't like about Bible class this year and what should be different next year.
Physics - Since Physics is basically math, I had no problem with it :)
Tomorrow are the two hardest classes - English and Speech. Blah. Bleh. Blih. Bloh. Bluh. And sometimes blyh.
In other news, I don't know why I didn't mention this before, but on Saturday I took the ACT for the last time with accommodations. I completed all of the multiple-choice sections! However, I only managed to write two paragraphs for the essay :(
EDIT: Whoa, 550th post! :D
