Whatever Matt Feels Like Posting

A couple more surprising findings:

- Apparently, during a few of the times that I wasn't paying attention back then, I would still answer questions consistently correctly - I definitely can't do that now! Then again, I'm assuming that "not attending" means not paying attention - it might just mean not making eye contact or something.
- Knowing my current talent with mathematics, you'd think that that identifying numbers and counting would be one of the few things that I was perfect at back then, but apparently not - I actually got certain numbers mixed up sometimes. And, just like with letters, this includes combinations of numbers that have completely different colors in my current grapheme→color synesthesia (12 vs. 11, 8 vs. 6, 8 vs. 7...). Knowing this, I'd say my mom was probably lying when she says that I hacked into her computer at age 2...

A couple of funny things I found:

- While being taught occupations, at one point I mixed up the descriptions of a vet and a fireman and said that a vet "puts out animals".
- While being taught opposites, I was asked what the opposite of "bad sitting" was (those therapists never seemed to like the way I was sitting :P) and so I said "bad standing".

I had such a bad and tiring day that I had a whole post complaining about it and accidentally posted it in goodbandnames! Good thing I deleted it. No wonder the only tag that would automatically be suggested while I typed was "author cancelled". Who used that tag in that community though? Maybe I'm so tired that I can't even remember what tag(s) were being suggested...

I get the feeling it's not just a coincidence that the research paper outline is due on my dream's second apocalypse prediction.

Making a fool of myself. Any time I post ANYTHING online or go to ANY social place, I am trying to overcome it. It works unless I forget about the fear completely.

Yep. But it doesn't impede or enhance the creative process, since I tend to imagine random people liking it just as often as I imagine random people hating it. And nowadays, I almost don't care what people think of things I make - as long as a few random people on the Internet like stuff I do, I don't care if others hate that stuff. (That's what banning people is for.)

I found a very bizarre glitch in my iPod today.

Y'see, I was listening to Backwards by Rascal Flatts, and apparently paused it the instant the song ended and put my iPod in my pocket so it would automatically turn off. The next time I turned it on, the song it was playing was Adia by Sarah McLachlan, but the screen still said Backwards. I just now got the opportunity to see what happens if I listen to "Adiwards" by "Sarascal McLachltts" all the way through: the iPod stays silent for a few seconds with Backwards still on the screen, then Adia replaced Backwards for a few seconds (still silent), then it went to the next song (Time After Time by Sarah McLachlan & Cyndi Lauper) normally. I also noticed that I had thought that the battery ran out during the song, yet when I charged my iPod, it still had all my songs on shuffle, even though I usually have to shuffle them again. (Maybe I just turned off my iPod by accident and thought the battery ran out...)

I never thought about glitches in my iPod before...this calls for further experimentation! For starters, I tried skipping back to those songs, and they had reverted to a normal Backwards followed by a normal Adia. I then tried looking at the play counts for those songs in iTunes. Both were 7, an understandable number for it to be (since I listen to Enya most often), so the iPod must not have put glitchy data there in its confusion.

Here are the things I have left to try on an imposter song:

- Skip to the previous song
- Skip to the next song
- Attempt to look at what position in the shuffled order (I dunno what you'd call it... it says "X of Y") the song is
- Use the seek bar
- Change the song's rating
- Add to On-The-Go
- Browse Album
- Browse Artist
- Make the last song in the shuffled order pretend to be the second-to-last song, then listen to it all the way through

On an almost unrelated note, I don't think I'll be able to get OWY1U back up by November. So my current goal is March 25, since that's a year after I dreamed the apocalypse would be in September, and in the dream, I thought it was exactly a year until then.

No apocalypse? Alrighty then. Next up in the possible apocalypse line: Large Hadron Collider in mid-November.

So yay for two more months to get OWY1U back up!

Happy birthday, pathvain_aelien! Too bad I had very little free time today, or I would have made a poem out of those e-mails we used to send each other.

Had WAY too much homework today, and it seems like it'll be that way Tuesday and Wednesday too. Note to self: don't skip school unless absolutely sure the apocalypse will happen before the next school day.

Speaking of which, September 21 and STILL no apocalypse?! Grr.
