Last week, as part of an assignment in Speech class, I rewatched The Mummy and watched The Ring for the first time.

Turns out that my prediction here was actually wrong - The Ring is, in fact, a lot scarier than the parody of it on Annoying Orange.

But you know what's even more terrifying than both combined?

A horror movie I watched yesterday called Worse than the Forbidden Comment Threads.

Have any of you heard of it? It's the sequel to that one movie about the guy who reads a cursed flame war that makes him start seeing nightmarish visions of his friends misinterpreting everything he's ever said and hating him for it, and seemingly, the only way for him to get rid of the visions is to make a list of everything he's said and done that might be misinterpreted and post that to his LiveJournal in friends-only entries.

I found both that one and the sequel REALLY disturbing... It's almost impossible to remember that either of them is just a movie. Maybe it's just because the main character looks kind of like me. Actually, come to think of it, he looks almost exactly like me... and he even has a lot of interests in common with me: same celebrity crush, same favorite video games...

Even the phrase "Forbidden Comment Threads" sounds familiar for some reason... Didn't I hear it somewhere before about three years ago? I remember thinking up a phrase kind of like it that had something to do with a--

O___O

...

Uhhh...

Guys...

...

I...

I just remembered...

The first one in that series was no horror movie...

I... I think I remember... the Forbidden Comment Threads...

...actually happening...

...as part of my own life...

...

I don't think the sequel was just a movie either...

...

There really is...

...something that's probably worse than the Forbidden Comment Threads...

...and I read it yesterday...

...

...

Okay, now I'm way too scared to even care whether or not going from actual horror movies to a controversy that I pretended was a horror movie is too sudden of a topic jump...

*hides and curls into the fetal position in a clearly horrified manner*

this terrifying entry

Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while. That semester was so intense, I rarely even had enough free time to complain about it on LiveJournal!

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that a) everything I know on LJ except my journal has dramatically changed in the time that I haven't posted, just like it did the last time I went a month or so without posting, and b) I'm not going to be able to adequately make up for the lack of posts. But I guess I'll try anyway by posting how I generally felt about each class:

And sorry for forgetting to put a LJ-cut at first :( )

And... that's about all I can do to catch up on posting for now. I'd have posted more quiz/meme reruns if I'd done any quizzes or memes between 5 years before my last entry and 5 years before this entry, but as it is, the next one's still not until the 14th.

Disprove the result "If this entry has
anything you'd want to repost, then
18 is prime"

You probably noticed I went for a while without posting again - I needed time to study for my finals and finish and turn in my last few homework assignments. But I finished my last final yesterday, I think I did well on all of my finals, and I'm back home today! Yay!! :)

Now to get back to re-catching up on my friends page (and hopefully on other stuff as well)...
matt1993: (enya box)
Three different 206's have shown up today:

- I was thinking about getting a snack, and I happened to look at the clock and it was 2:05 PM, so I waited until it changed to 2:06 to leave the room to get it. (Granted, it was kinda intentional, but it didn't take that long for it to change to 2:06, so I probably would've gotten my snack at 2:06 anyway.)
- I've recently made a program on my calculator that helps me decide what homework to work on first by dividing what I put as the relative difficulty of each homework assignment (with 1 being the difficulty of a math problem) by how many hours I have to work on it.* At one point, for studying for my economics test next Monday, this turned out to be 2.069800282. Even more interesting is the fact that just before I ran the program that time, I had randomly thought about what it would be like if, once I made a PrtSc Land-styled version of this userpic next PrtSc Land Day, Schrödinger's Enya commented on it.
- I'm reading Frankenstein for English class, and I read page 206 today.

Speaking of homework, I've had a LOT of it lately. :(

And now, back to your regularly scheduled pessimism: my New Year's resolutions!

←Week 3 Week 5→

Stupid things one )

Procrastination one )

*The formula is different if I'm at school, because then it'd be best to work on short assignments first so I don't have to take them home. In that case, I have it multiply instead of divide, then take the reciprocal of the result.

I finally submitted my last HAS assignment aside from the final project! Yay!!

Now to get on with my other homework this weekend...

Colonize Mars

Fever fever

matt1993: (infinite-paragraph essay)
Yesterday and today I got to stay home from school because I have a fever (at least I think it's a fever). Since yesterday I was going to be on a college visit anyway, I had already done all of my homework that day. I didn't get so lucky today, though; I've read The Turtle for English class, written down some history terms, and done some math, but I still have to start working on the HAS essay today. And despite this assignment being odd-numbered, it looks like I'm gonna have to design something again (but not draw it). :(

EDIT: Now that I look at the assignment again, the essay actually doesn't seem too hard because one of the things I can write about is timekeeping on Mars, which interests me and thus should be easy for me to talk about. Yay?

Spread the fever
matt1993: (infinite-paragraph essay)
I've typed up all of my notecards for the research paper, so now I need to write them on actual notecards. I also have to work on a review for a test over A Painted House, do this worksheet for Spanish (shouldn't be too hard), and read a few pages in my history textbook by Thursday. And if I get time, I have to work on HAS and my math assignment that's due after Spring Break.

Later today, that is. (it's after midnight in my time zone, so technically it's "later today" and not "tomorrow")

Your assignment: repost this
matt1993: (infinite-paragraph essay)
Well, I finally finished the fourth HAS assignment. Yay! Hopefully, adding only one feature to something still makes it count as a new invention.

I haven't taken a quiz in 8 days, so:

You Follow Your Heart

You're romantic, sentimental, and emotional.

You tend to fall in (and out of) love very quickly.

Some may call you fickle, but you can't help where your emotions take you.

You've definitely broken a few hearts, but you're not a heartbreaker by nature.

Your intentions are always good, even if they change with the wind

1-to-1 repost
matt1993: (back of riley's head)
I really should work on my HAS assignment, but all of my Christmas presents keep tempting me to procrastinate it. And both are tempting me to procrastinate work on Ours Will You 1-Up. :(

We wish you a merry procrastination and a happy repost
matt1993: (cheese man)
So it turns out my mom completely forgot that there was an orthodontist appointment today, and she'll have to reschedule it. Which means I got to sleep in a little longer! Yay!

Also, my first HAS assignment has been graded now. Surprisingly, I did better than the essay than I did on the math problem. This is a sure sign of the apocalypse, everyone.

Rigged quiz of the day:

You Are Fettuccine Alfredo

Compared to most people, you have rich and decadent tastes.

If you can afford something, you'll go ahead and indulge yourself.

You are a true foodie. No food is off the table for you.

You're the type most likely to appreciate every aspect of a five star meal.

No, I'm definitely macaroni & cheese.

I'll have what you're having!
matt1993: (backmask mushroom)
Wow... I just worked on Ours Will You 1-Up for the first time in 24 days. Talk about procrastination!

Oh wait. I said the exact same thing the day before Thanksgiving. Which just goes to show that it probably won't be back before March 25. :(

Fortunately, only 5 days, 3 hours, and 35 minutes left until Christmas! :) Unfortunately, only 3 hours and 35 minutes until I have to start working on the next HAS assignment. :(

I just retroactively added a repost button for the first time in who knows how long
matt1993: (hypercube)
Still no apocalypse? Great. I might have to actually *gulp* write the Scarlet Letter essay that was assigned today.

I haven't taken a quiz since the 12th, so here you go:

You will die a Martyr
How will it go down? You will be killed by the stench of aliens who want to take over earth.

And [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien, I'll write that poem if you let me see the e-mails you saved again.

Repost blood runs in my veins like GIANT RADIOACTIVE RUBBER PANTS!!

RRRRRGH!!!

Having WAY too many creative-type assignments in school. BEING CREATIVE IS NOT JUST SOMETHING I CAN TURN ON OR OFF! FOR ME CREATIVITY JUST HAPPENS RANDOMLY!

A rundown of all creative-type assignments so far:

Last Wednesday: write a journal entry of either one of Columbus's men or an "Indian" (Native American for those of you who prefer Columbus's mistake to be as clear as possible), which was due the next day, and write an Indian/Native American myth, which was due Friday (rough draft) and Monday (final copy). Since I've already done those, I'll tell y'all about them if you want, but I don't have the time now.

Last Friday: For yearbook (the elective I chose, and never will again), I have to come up with three things that are unique about this school year, and three possible yearbook themes that should have to do with said unique things if possible. How the sail am I supposed to know that stuff?

Today: a project in which we have to choose one of those first few New World settlements and make a brochure for it was assigned, and is due "Friday" (actually Wednesday due to that stupid get-homework-done-as-soon-as-possible-even-if-the-apocalypse-is-coming policy I'm forced to live by).

So! On a related-only-because-of-apocalypse-paranoia note, I decided to just skip the last 22 songs I wanted to have on OWY1U for the time being and just focus on getting the songs that were already online back online.

Current Ours Will You 1-Up getting-back-online status: Ours Will You 1 Coin (meaning 1% done)

Eat fish in a vain attempt to earn flight back

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
