At MATT93*, victory shall be mine!...Or maybe not.
Tue, Nov. 8th, 2011 01:06This past week has been pretty stressful, because even with
pathvain_aelien's help, both my Computer Science essay and my career portfolio took all weekend because I kept procrastinating throughout the week. But at least it's over now and there's much less homework this week!
Remember those unusual online clocks I found? I found another one, which was part of the reason I was procrastinating so much:
http://base36.org/
This one doesn't seem to have as much potential as the rest, though; it's only synchronized to seconds, thus causing the other units to be "36 seconds", "about one third of an hour", "about 13 hours", "about 19½ days", and "about 23 months", which don't correlate very well to the normal clock or calendar system. Still interesting, though!
Two more world domination quizzes:
And another completely random quiz:
I find it depressingly ironic that the one person on here that I've actually thought was dead (several times) ended up being the squirrel that died... I'M SORRY FOR NOT PICKING "AWWW, HOW SAD"! :( :( :(
*This date and time in the Base 36 clock is actually not too far off; it's on September 23, 2012. Hmm...
Fall victim to my mind control-- *cough* I mean repost this entry

Tue, Oct. 25th, 2011 00:27These unique interactive clocks have been distracting me all day today, so I thought I'd post an entry about them so that at least the idea for this entry won't distract me...
http://thecolourclock.co.uk/ - Takes the hour, minute, and second, divides them by 23, 59, and 59 (respectively), multiplies them by 255, and changes the red, green, and blue values (respectively) of the background color to those numbers. The effect can be pretty relaxing! Currently it is blue in my time zone, since it's just after midnight.
http://www.ruinsofmorning.net/flash/hexclock.php - Hexadecimal clock with 16 hours in a day, 256 minutes in an hour, and 16 seconds in a minute. Currently reads 0:32.D.
http://www.alphabetclock.com/ - Uses letters instead of numbers, with A=0, B=1, ..., Z=25. 26 seconds in a minute, 26 minutes in an hour, 26 hours in a day, 26 days in a month, 26 months in a year, 26 years in a century, and 26 centuries in a millenium. Since it's synchronized to UTC, it currently reads FJSYD:STM even though it's just after midnight right now. (FJSYD: is the date and :STM is the time; the first few letters of the date can be omitted depending on how specific you want to be, like how you might abbreviate 2011 to '11, say "October 24" with no year, or say "the 24th" with no month or year) Also includes a time and date converter.
Interesting finding - :ENYA is 11:11:11 AM in my time zone...
http://www.purplemassgroup.com/upload/wtf/index.html - Custom version of the previous clock that shows two more digits of the time and includes a calendar.
It's reposting time! Not really - :REPOST was a couple of hours ago

Writer's Block: Dear LiveJournal
Sat, Mar. 5th, 2011 21:51Dear LiveJournal
How long have you been on Livejournal? What major life changes has LiveJournal witnessed?
Answer View Answers
3½ years, or 42 months, or 185 weeks, or 1,295 days, or 31,083 hours, or 1,865,008 minutes, or 111,900,500 seconds.
Not many major life changes have happened. I did start my senior year, and I participated in High School Aerospace Scholars last year, but that's about it.
What major reposted entries has LiveJournal witnessed?
No wonder the Martian year is about 666 sols long
Fri, May. 7th, 2010 19:14Guess who managed to hack into his mom's computer at age 2, yet can't write an interactive Earth-Mars calendar program in Visual Basic at age 16? :(

Fever fever
Tue, Apr. 6th, 2010 19:57Yesterday and today I got to stay home from school because I have a fever (at least I think it's a fever). Since yesterday I was going to be on a college visit anyway, I had already done all of my homework that day. I didn't get so lucky today, though; I've read The Turtle for English class, written down some history terms, and done some math, but I still have to start working on the HAS essay today. And despite this assignment being odd-numbered, it looks like I'm gonna have to design something again (but not draw it). :(
EDIT: Now that I look at the assignment again, the essay actually doesn't seem too hard because one of the things I can write about is timekeeping on Mars, which interests me and thus should be easy for me to talk about. Yay?

200th post!
Mon, Aug. 17th, 2009 16:09For my 200th LJ entry (my profile will say 201, but that's because I haven't deleted the welcome entry that's automatically made for new users), I decided to do something completely pointless: take the first word from my first post, the second word from my second post, the third word from my third post, and so on, all the way up to this one. (If post #X has Y words, and Y is less than X, then the remainder of X ÷ Y is Z, and I use the Zth word instead, or the last if Z is zero.) And yes, this is a ripoff of 160 Seconds.
( So here goes )
( Context )
While doing this, I've noticed that I have quite a few posts that are exactly 48 words long, by the way. Coincidence?
On a less pointless note, I had to get my braces tightened again today. And this time, there are rubber bands holding the top and bottom braces together (which have to be changed every time I eat or brush my teeth, and also before I go to bed), so it probably won't pull a my wisdom teeth this time. :(

Let's not do the time warp again
Sat, Aug. 15th, 2009 23:39My alarm clock has a habit of jumping back an hour and thirty-something minutes every now and then. It's done that three times so far.
I've been wanting to change the batteries because the display is dimmer and the sounds it makes (alarm, reading the time when I press the snooze button, etc.) sound different, but does anyone know why the time would jump back every now and then?
