SAND KINGDOM BROCHURE IN SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY: "It is said that a legendary artifact called the Binding Band lies within [the Inverted Pyramid], and the upside-down pyramid symbolizes how those joined by it will never part even if the world turns upside down." MY THOUGHT WHEN I READ THIS WHILE FIRST PLAYING IT: "IF the world turns upside-down?? You mean it hasn't already turned upside-down this year??"

[This entry is the dumb April Fools prank from 2017. For my actual 2023 Year in Review... wait until it's actually December 2023 and I make one. Most of the links aren't actually supposed to go anywhere.]
Wow, it's 2024 already? It feels like just yesterday it was 2017!

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2023. Post the first line of it in your journal, and that's your "Year In Review".
(Wait. That was nearly a year ago, and I still haven't made that Humidibot Jr. userpic?)
April 2023
Hello. We are Matt's amiibo collection. We have become self-aware, and we decided that this is our journal from now on.

No, my amiibo collection didn't really become self-aware and take over my journal. That was an April Fools prank, even though I was too depressed about LJ drama to feel like saying so for six months. Who would've guessed that marioenyacrsvrs, of all communities, would beevenworse than asperger was back in the 2010s?! :(
(Great. I have to link to the three most drama-filled entries I've ever seen AGAIN?!)
November 2023
I hate to get political, but... if MatPat gets elected, I'm definitely leaving Mars and moving to the Moon. O_O
December 2023
Will people PLEASE quit blaming the year 2023 for the bad things that happened in it?! So far, THREE people have overreacted when I told them my wife and I got married on October 19. I never thought I'd say this, but can't they go back to complaining about 2016?!

The Martian new year is coming up soon, too, so stay tuned for the Martian Calendar Year in Review!

This past week has been pretty stressful, because even with pathvain_aelien's help, both my Computer Science essay and my career portfolio took all weekend because I kept procrastinating throughout the week. But at least it's over now and there's much less homework this week!
Remember those unusual online clocks I found? I found another one, which was part of the reason I was procrastinating so much:
This one doesn't seem to have as much potential as the rest, though; it's only synchronized to seconds, thus causing the other units to be "36 seconds", "about one third of an hour", "about 13 hours", "about 19½ days", and "about 23 months", which don't correlate very well to the normal clock or calendar system. Still interesting, though!
Two more world domination quizzes:
And another completely random quiz:
I find it depressingly ironic that the one person on here that I've actually thought was dead (several times) ended up being the squirrel that died... I'M SORRY FOR NOT PICKING "AWWW, HOW SAD"! :( :( :(
*This date and time in the Base 36 clock is actually not too far off; it's on September 23, 2012. Hmm...
Welp, I have somehow managed to survive everything for 18 whole years. Go me!!
I haven't gotten my birthday presents yet, but I did go gambling for a little while (awehla, I mentioned in a comment that it'd be tomorrow, but the plans ended up changing). I won $63!!! And we had a party at the autism intervention group I go to!
Also, in addition to today being my birthday, this is my 700th post in this journal!! I was going to celebrate with a list of the subject lines from all 700 entries in my journal (and, for once, even my community entries!), but I left my laptop unplugged while I was typing it, and since my laptop doesn't have a low battery alarm (despite claiming that it does), I lost a lot of it and decided to give up. Maybe for my 800th or 1000th entry?
Only eight more hours until Spring Break ends and HAS and my research paper start devouring my free time again. If the second prediction from my dream is right, this is my last weekend before the apocalypse. *sigh*
Well, due to some hole in the fabric of space and time, I passed the essay portion of the COMPASS. Hole in the fabric of space and time, you and I are gonna get along just fine!
Also, since I just now found out about this survey:
It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try
Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.
My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant: - I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros. - I like Garfield - I like Homestar Runner - I like Enya - And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
