:(

Well, Spring Break's over. Not that I can really tell, since I had to work on a group project for Software Engineering for most of the break and it's still only almost done. If I'd known how much time it would've taken up, I'd have checked my friends page before Wednesday, because after that, I once again had so little free time that I ended up preferring to spend it procrastinating over checking my friends page. Sorry :( At least this time I only sometimes spent my procrastination playing video games - I did write down some new userpic ideas, and I did work on the list of things that kinda (or really) remind me of the Forbidden Comment Threads!

Speaking of userpics, continuing to try to make my older userpics more legible was another thing that I would've worked on before Wednesday if I'd known that the rest of Spring Break would be so tied up...

Everything's cool when you don't have homework and aren't constantly being reminded of the FCT!

Sorry I haven't posted or checked my friends page in a while - I once again had so much homework pile up on me at once that a) I didn't have much free time and b) whenever I did, I was so tired of having to work on stuff that I ended up spending it playing video games instead.

Not only that, but the past two weeks in Psychology class, we discussed the chapter that reminded me of the Forbidden Comment Threads the most when I glanced at random pages from my textbook... *shudder* Gender, Sex, and Sexuality.

Luckily, only one argument ever happened throughout all the class sessions about that chapter, I managed to stay out of it, and it wasn't even bad enough that anyone who's even slightly more emotionally stable than I am is likely to also count it as an argument. But there were still a lot of things said in the textbook and the lectures that reminded me of the FCT... *shudder*

At least we're done with that chapter, and it's Spring Break now!!! And I got to see The LEGO Movie yesterday!!

Hopefully, I'll make progress on something this Spring Break...

Are men or women more likely
to repost this entry? (please
don't answer that because it'll
probably turn into the
Forbidden Comment Threads...)

Spring Break

IT'S SPRING BREAK!!!! Now I can finally get the sleep I need to keep myself from missing or being late to most of my classes!

As you can probably tell, even though I don't have an English class this semester, this year has been so tough that I haven't had the chance to check LJ much. For a while, I was procrastinating checking my friends page because it seemed like the only reason I wouldn't be able to do my homework or finish the really long post I've been talking about. Though, now I've been done with that post since February and I'm only waiting for [livejournal.com profile] ellaina02 to get back to me about it (I wanted her and [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien to proofread it to make sure it made sense), so procrastinating checking my friends page now is just force of habit. Rest assured, I'll start catching up on it soon!

At first, this semester was better than last semester - no essays, not much homework, and I got to all of my classes on time. But now, I just get worse and worse at all of these - especially getting to Computer Science on time, which is particularly bad because my instructor for that class will be my academic advisor starting next semester and thus I need to not get on her bad side. And I'm still not any closer to finishing my creative vortexes faster than I come up with them.

Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ellaina02, [livejournal.com profile] hattaloveis18, [livejournal.com profile] arpoksai, [livejournal.com profile] haleydunphy, [livejournal.com profile] jessamort, [livejournal.com profile] littleevilone, [livejournal.com profile] venturia2010, [livejournal.com profile] spikeyannie, [livejournal.com profile] inever, [livejournal.com profile] dreadfulpenny81, [livejournal.com profile] unowncafe, [livejournal.com profile] adrianacecilia and [livejournal.com profile] ariadnechan! And happy current birthday to [livejournal.com profile] gt_814 and [livejournal.com profile] irish_ileana!

Well, this wasn't a very good Spring Break

...because it's Sunday and I STILL HAVE HOMEWORK. Ugh.

I'm about to get onto it, mind you - I just needed to complain about it first.

SPRING BREAK!

It's Spring Break!!! About time...

Also, here are the first two quizzes in a while:

You Are a Mirror

You are a very private person. You need your alone time to introspect and recharge.

You don't mind being around others, but you prefer to spend the bulk of your time by yourself.

You are a slow and critical thinker. You need to mull things over for a long time.

You hold yourself accountable for your actions. You are constantly evaluating your life and trying to improve.

You Are a Colon

You are very orderly and fact driven.

You aren't concerned much with theories or dreams... only what's true or untrue.

You are brilliant and incredibly learned. Anything you know is well researched.

You like to make lists and sort through things step by step. You aren't subject to whim or emotions.

Your friends see you as a constant source of knowledge and advice.

(But they are a little sick of you being right all of the time!)

You excel in: Leadership positions

You get along best with: The Semi-Colon

Are you a mirror or a colon?

The countdown has begun

Only eight more hours until Spring Break ends and HAS and my research paper start devouring my free time again. If the second prediction from my dream is right, this is my last weekend before the apocalypse. *sigh*

Random quiz of the day:

Spring Break truly begins

I'm finally done with all of the homework that's due after (or during, in the case of HAS stuff) Spring Break! Yay! Now I get to finally enjoy it!

Random quiz:

You Sometimes Know When Someone's Lying

You can spot a liar if the liar slips up, but you're not always aware of other people's dishonesty.

Eventually a liar will reveal himself, and you usually will figure out if you've been lied to.

However, someone could be duping you without you knowing it. So watch out for the telltale signs of lying!

I'm mad at the maker of this quiz for including a question about what amount of eye contact signifies a liar. The first autistic person he/she meets will punch him/her in the face.

Homework apocalypse update

I've typed up all of my notecards for the research paper, so now I need to write them on actual notecards. I also have to work on a review for a test over A Painted House, do this worksheet for Spanish (shouldn't be too hard), and read a few pages in my history textbook by Thursday. And if I get time, I have to work on HAS and my math assignment that's due after Spring Break.

Later today, that is. (it's after midnight in my time zone, so technically it's "later today" and not "tomorrow")

200th post!

For my 200th LJ entry (my profile will say 201, but that's because I haven't deleted the welcome entry that's automatically made for new users), I decided to do something completely pointless: take the first word from my first post, the second word from my second post, the third word from my third post, and so on, all the way up to this one. (If post #X has Y words, and Y is less than X, then the remainder of X ÷ Y is Z, and I use the Zth word instead, or the last if Z is zero.) And yes, this is a ripoff of 160 Seconds.

So here goes )

Context )

While doing this, I've noticed that I have quite a few posts that are exactly 48 words long, by the way. Coincidence?

On a less pointless note, I had to get my braces tightened again today. And this time, there are rubber bands holding the top and bottom braces together (which have to be changed every time I eat or brush my teeth, and also before I go to bed), so it probably won't pull a my wisdom teeth this time. :(

16!!!

Aw gnat! I was going to post something like "I'm now 15.99999984 years old... 15.99999987... 15.9999999... 15.99999994... 15.99999997... 16!!!" but my computer clock displayed midnight before I could start typing. In fact, somehow it's at 12:02 AM already. And now it's 12:03.

But that doesn't change the fact that it's FINALLY MY BIRTHDAY!!! Yay!

Stuff I might could do this year according to them:

Albert Einstein wrote an essay containing the beginnings of the special theory of relativity. In it, Einstein showed that time and motion are relative to the observer.

American sharpshooter Annie ("Annie Get Your Gun") Oakley challenged and defeated the well-known marksman Frank Butler, whom she later married. She could hit a dime in mid-air from 90 feet.

Legendary womanizer and adventurer Casanova was expelled from a seminary for moral misconduct.

Cuban revolutionary Jose Marti had his first arrest and exile.

George McFarland ("Spanky" in the Our Gang series) retired from the movies and spent the rest of his life doing sales and charity work.

Sir Henry Morton Stanley ("Dr. Livingstone, I presume?") sailed for New Orleans as a cabin boy.

Cornelius Vanderbilt began a ferry service between New York City and Staten Island.

Tennis player Tracy Austin became the youngest person to win the U.S. Open.

Guitar player and songwriter Maybelle Carter invented the 'Carter lick,' which used the thumb to play melody and changed the role of the guitar in country music to that of a lead instrument.

American poet and journalist William Cullen Bryant wrote the first draft of his most famous poem, Thanatopsis.

American film director Howard Hawks became a professional car and airplane racer.

Patrick Taylor left home in Beaumont, Texas with only a suitcase full of clothes, 35 cents and the desire to attend college. Evenually he earned a petroleum engineering degree and became one of the richest men in Louisiana.

Emilie Redfern managed to offend the entire town of Chatham and be forcibly removed.

Ashlon suffered a horrible breakup after being 'used and abused' for an entire year.

Rhiannon Carr of Wisconsin, to protest St. Patrick's Day celebrations, vowed to celebrate St. Andrew's Day in an obnoxiously Scottish fashion.

By the age of 16, Sarah Ouseley had travelled to Tanzania, climbed halfway up Kilimanjaro, helped build a classroom in a town called Moshi, been on safari and swum in the Mediterranean ocean.

Melissa Virzi gave up a traditional Spring Break in order to help build a battered women's shelter in Tijuana, MX. She also went to Mississippi to help with Hurricane Katrina Relief.

Kaylie found one of the greatest guys in the world.
