Okay, so SOPA and PIPA are gone, but ACTA apparently a) has been around since 2006, b) has already been signed by the U.S., and c) will ruin the Internet in exactly the same way? Sheesh. I'm bringing back my protest userpics (in fact, I brought back the ones that didn't mention SOPA specifically before I posted this entry), and I'm gonna put the protest-userpic idea out there again for anyone else who wants to protest with me. Don't know how to edit your userpic? No problem - let me know what userpic(s) you want to replace and what you want any text changed to, and I'll make it for you!

Does anyone know when the vote on ACTA is? I can't seem to find it, but I'd really like to know when the somewhat more impending apocalypse is...

The world is burning. RUN.

I'm against SOPA for all of the same reasons that the Gods of Being Able to Voice Opinions Better than Matt1993 (e.g. LiveJournal, Wikipedia, Google, Randall Munroe, Ryan North...) are - and this is coming from a guy who usually doesn't comment on anything controversial because he either becomes depressed about what side to be on or posts about an occurrence of a number like 206 in a news article or something rather than actually discussing the issue.

In fact, until SOPA is rejected, I'm going to do a clever take on the blackouts that Wikipedia, Wikia, xkcd and Dinosaur Comics (and any other websites I don't know about yet) have done - I'll blackout as many of my userpics (well, not really blackout - I'm not sure how to describe it, so just look at the userpic on this entry) as I can before the 24th (or whenever SOPA is rejected, or - if we're too unlucky for that - SOPA is repealed after becoming law). To keep this from turning out like my attempt at replacing userpics with PSL-styled variations (i.e., not getting to finish soon enough), I'm gonna upload each one as soon as I make it. Dunno how many I'll be able to replace before the impending apocalypse the Senate begins voting on it, though...

EDIT: These are even more difficult to make than I thought! I only got four finished today, but trust me, you don't need to see 112 shadowed userpics containing somewhere from 5 to 109 SOPA jokes to see my (and LJ's, and Wikipedia's, and Google's...) point. According to Google, the White House didn't even need one. I'm still gonna make more, though!

And yes, I know my LJ isn't well-known enough for this to have much of an impact, but I'm putting the idea out there for anyone else who wants to try it.

Welp, I have somehow managed to survive everything for 18 whole years. Go me!!

I haven't gotten my birthday presents yet, but I did go gambling for a little while ([livejournal.com profile] awehla, I mentioned in a comment that it'd be tomorrow, but the plans ended up changing). I won $63!!! And we had a party at the autism intervention group I go to!

And, of course, the usual Museum of Accomplishments post:

<s>Cake</s> cut for length )

Also, in addition to today being my birthday, this is my 700th post in this journal!! I was going to celebrate with a list of the subject lines from all 700 entries in my journal (and, for once, even my community entries!), but I left my laptop unplugged while I was typing it, and since my laptop doesn't have a low battery alarm (despite claiming that it does), I lost a lot of it and decided to give up. Maybe for my 800th or 1000th entry?

I started worrying that the reason I haven't gotten very many comments lately could be because most of you have filtered me on your friends pages due to all of my Moya's Space Log and userpic poll posts taking up a lot of space on them. So I made two custom friends groups - "Moya's Space Log Readers" and "Userpic Voters". "Moya's Space Log Readers" consists of those who have commented on Moya's Space Log - [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien and [livejournal.com profile] rovanda - while "Userpic Voters" is empty because no one has voted yet. So if you want to read MSL and/or vote for the userpics you want me to have, just tell me and I'll add you to the group(s)!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it, by the way :)

Vote early, vote often
Do you vote for a candidate based on issues or do you do you follow the party line, and why?

Answer View Answers

I'm only 17, but if I were old enough to vote, I would vote based on issues because both Democrats and Republicans do both good and bad things.

Yes, we CAN repost this entry!

It's hard to believe, but I'm actually planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this year (albeit the Youth Writing Project version, where my word count will only be 25,000 words).

Remember back when I got Super Mario Galaxy 2 and a Moya CD for my birthday and commented on how it felt weird to mention Mario and Moya in the same *deep breath* sentence, this was not the case with Mario and Enya? That made me wonder what it would be like if Mario, Luigi, Enya, and Moya all worked together in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Moya questioned Mario logic while Enya simply accepted it. [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien was going to write me a drabble for my birthday, and I suggested this as an idea for it. However, since it would be difficult to write this as just a drabble, I eventually decided to write it on my own as a full-length story for NNWM (why is it NaNoWriMo when NNWM is even shorter?). I sure hope I can still sign up after October and that I'm allowed to add drawings later (I doubt I'll be able to make all of the drawings I want in 30 days).

Also, does anyone who's done NNWM know if I can post my story to my LJ? I'm pretty sure it's allowed, but I wanna make sure.

Now for the funny picture. In Government we had to look up things about elections in our state, such as the requirements for voting, etc. I found this funny picture on one of the pages that I found my information from:

Is there one Grand Star?

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
