matt1993: (infinite-paragraph essay)
Only one day left until I'm a creature trapped in a social setting for about 72 hours straight. :(

Yes, I've been having to dread this for so long, I made two posts complaining about it. (if you missed the first one, it's here)

I can't believe it - I finished the creative vortex poll I mentioned I've been working on!!

cut for LOTS of length )

I hope the poll shows up...

EDIT: It did, but I accidentally put "Finish rereading" as an option when it should've been "Finish rereading therapy notes" and I can't change it now. Oh well.

Have a surprisingly good reason to repost this

Today, I accidentally wrote "Pro-Life" instead of "Pro-Test" as one of the sources for my research paper despite the fact that not only are hot-button issues such as abortion off-limits for the topic for our research papers, I would've avoided them even if they had been allowed. The last time I accidentally used the wrong word in a paper in a way that could've made things go badly if I hadn't noticed was over 3 years ago - and unlike that time, it was for a real paper (not just practice for the SAT) and someone else noticed it before I did (fortunately, it was [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien who noticed rather than my teacher, but still).

And people still think I won't regress if my mind gets too full of creative vortexes? It's clearly already started!

For those of you new here, it's become a tradition for me to post comics made with the Garfield Randomizer after I've been on hiatus for a while. And I've also promised to post some comics made with Garkov as well, but I never did, and I found about two more similar randomizer things in the meantime, so here you go!

I don't have any vision-impaired transcripts for my older ones yet, but I've added that as yet another entry on my to-do list :)

Garfield Randomizer #159-163 )

Garkov #1-10 )

Previously on the X-Files #4-8 )

Jesus Markoving Christ #1-5 )

Maybe this entry could get going if it lets you kill it without an.

So turns out ACTA was postponed today! Yay!!

I'm gonna wait a little longer before I revert my protest userpics, so that just in case we find about another bill like SOPA/PIPA/ACTA that's somehow secretly been signed by nearly enough countries for it to pass without anyone knowing for years, I'll have slightly less work to do. Until then, I'll just use the ones I didn't get to replace. :)

To celebrate, here's another Previously on the X-Files:

I wonder who glued Mulder's hand to his face? Or maybe he's just taking "talk to the hand" too literally. :)

EDIT IN 2018: Not only is the image gone now, but I don't remember what any of it said :( But at least I remember that Mulder appearing to have his hand glued to his face throughout the entire thing was the best part in my opinion. :)

Secretly have reposted this entry 6 years ago

Similar to Garkov, except instead of Garfield comics it uses X-Files transcripts and screenshots. Neat! It's a lot harder to find funny stuff with this than with Garkov or the Garfield Randomizer, though...

EDIT: Finally found an interesting one!

EDIT IN 2018: It's gone now, but luckily I remember most of what it said:

SCULLY: This man's been shot.
MAN OTHER THAN MULDER (I remember assuming he was Cigarette-Smoking Man but not being sure): !!!
SCULLY: No aliens. Have you looked outside, Mulder?
MAN OTHER THAN MULDER: (with mouth agape in a bit of a smile) ...

EDIT: Another good one I wanna keep:

You already know the truth. I assumed that was
the address of that warehouse?

http://mezzacotta.net/garfield - Several different types of Garfield parodies, ranging from variations on the "Garfield Minus Garfield" formula (my favorite of these is "Garfield Divided By Garfield") to haikus to merging or swapping panels/dialogue between two strips to averaging the colors values of each strip to pretty much anything. Warning, though: caused me to procrastinate for two whole days earlier this week until I finally read the whole archive.

http://joshmillard.com/garkov/ - Similar to the Garfield Randomizer, uses Markov chains to create random text out of dialogue from Garfield and then puts this text in emptied text bubbles from a few Garfield strips. I'll post a few strips made with both this and the Garfield Randomizer later. (Can't right now since it's so late.)

I eventually fulfill that promise with Garkov #1-10 →

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
