If you could delete one thing in life from ever existing what would it be, and why? (e.g., paper not being invented or the color ‘blue’)

Either alcohol, guns, cussing, or cigarettes. Not sure yet.
Don't drink, smoke, shoot, and repost.
Some links I've been meaning to post for awhile

( EDIT IN 2018: Great, another entry where I put both good and bad things in the same entry. To make up for this, I'm retroactively putting them under separate LJ-cuts. The bad stuff is under this one... )
Now for something more light-hearted:
( The good stuff is under this one )
Will your alcohol marry this entry? (wait, what?!)

Do you think video games will still be popular in 15 years? How do you think they'll change?
Answer View Answers
They'll definitely still be popular, but considering how popular video games like Halo, Modern Warfare, Call of Duty, etc. are nowadays, I suspect that in 15 years, almost all video games that aren't gory will either become gory or stop being made. :(

Let's say you're running for president, and you win by a mudslide. What would you change about your country and why? Would you make new laws? Paint the White House blue? Tell all!

It's funny you should ask this, because eight days ago, I just happened to think of a few creative solutions to the gun control issue. :)
EDIT: I just realized I used my Invinciblican and Emocrat userpics back-to-back, lol.

Gun control issue: slightly shotgunned?
Sun, Feb. 13th, 2011 17:54For once, my random associations actually may have paid off!
Yesterday morning, something reminded me of something that reminded me of something else that eventually made me think about how if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns, but allowing guns to be too easy to obtain leads to family shootings, school shootings, bank robberies, and so on. Then I suddenly came up with ideas for some possible solutions to the issue! All of them involve special guns being made that only work under certain circumstances, and all other guns being outlawed:
( LJ-cut contains less than $20 )
If you think any of these might work, feel free to shoot this entry into your journal!

Do you believe that violence in media promotes violence in real life? Does media reflect cultural values or can it actively reshape them?
Answer View Answers
Depends on what media. I'd say that bloody and gory video games promote violence in real life; but any other media, not so much. As for the second question, I'd say it's a little of both.
Repostings of this entry not rated by the ESRB (then again, neither is the original)

How do you think personal relationships would change if people could read minds?
Answer View Answers
They would no longer exist because of the likelihood of a weird, dirty, and/or violent thought randomly popping up. Duh.
EDIT: I just realized this is my 500th entry!!
