Dear larsiusprime and anyone else who happens to be working on this Flash Player emulator:

I commend you for taking the initiative and trying to find a way for Flash content to be preserved for future generations; however, I would like to ask you one thing:

Why is it that, according to the GitHub page for this project, nothing has been done whatsoever except for the addition of the readme file a year ago? Especially now that we have less than 500 days left until the death of Flash?

If you're making any progress, please let us know. (Or if you are posting status updates somewhere public and I just don't know it, maybe make that easier to find?) Seeing that the latest update was a year ago isn't exactly making me confident about the future of my favorite Flash content. :(

You are Matt1993!

As you sit at your computer writing a LiveJournal/DreamWidth entry about some dumb choose-your-own-adventure thingy that is probably going to only make sense in your head, you think to yourself:

"Wow, this year has gone by fast. How is it almost May already? How is it 2019 already?! This means the discontinuation of Flash is only eight months away! (Or possibly twenty months away. But Murphy's law implies "in 2020" means the beginning of 2020 rather than the end of it...)"

Several times now, you have considered putting your long, slow, epic journey to fix all of your LJ/DW entries so that they show up the way you want them to on hold for a while, because there's so many Flash cartoons you've never watched but wanted to watch someday that you may never get to see if you wait too long. Right now, more than ever, you start to think that might be a good idea - excluding outages that lasted less than a day, it's been over a year since the last time you actually thought LJ might shut down or become so glitched as to be unusable.

But on the other hand, you feel like since you actually have the motivation to fix your entries, maybe you should go ahead and keep working on that first.

On the other other hand, you don't have that much motivation to do either right now, so you think you'd feel better if you just gave up on all of that for a while and spent all your free time on video games for now.

What do you do?

If you choose to watch all the Flash cartoons you've wanted to watch, turn to page 2.

If you choose to finish fixing your entries, turn to page 3.

If you're feeling lazy and just want to play some video games, turn to page 4.

It's 2019 now. So according to Vegas Stakes for the SNES (and Game Boy apparently), there's only one more year to go until it is OFFICIALLY the future!

Wow. When I played this game as a kid (it was probably my second-favorite SNES game after Super Mario World... how I've never mentioned it on here until now, I don't know), 2020 felt so far away. Now it's only a year away... Wow.

Unfortunately, the fact that it's 2019 ALSO means that there's only one year left (or MAYBE two?) for me to watch everything that's in Flash that I wanted to watch but haven't watched! O_O

Happy New Year everyone!

I can't believe that until now I only wrote this in my notebook for English class, but Monday was the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Yay!!

Also, this is really cool:

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing, in any fandom I am familiar with. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. If you aren't a writer, express yourself in some other way for different fandoms!

My version: Since I'm not a writer, I'll make avatars instead. You can choose between these three styles:

1) The style I'm planning on drawing a new comic in after OWY1U is back up. It involves using MS Paint sorta the way one would make Flash or 3D animation (i.e. saving lots of individual frames separately so that, when those exact frames are needed again, they can be pasted in), and would take a while (but only because I don't have any of those frames yet), and I would probably procrastinate a lot, but it will help me experiment with the style.

2) A style similar to style 1 except that I won't save any frames separately. It would look kinda like this style (warning: City of Ashes spoiler). If you don't want City of Ashes spoiled for you, it would also look like this style, but to a lesser extent.

3) Super Mario World-styled sprites (regardless of the fandom you request) similar to this userpic and my "Enya is part Yoshi" one. (EDIT: How'd I forget my default userpic?) Will be a lot faster.

EDOT: I just noticed this was my 350th entry!

Make drabbles, avatars, or whatever for YOUR friends

LOL!

A Flash emulator of "Windows Really Good Edition". 'Tis hilarious. I feel sorry for Clippit (the paperclip) though. Poor guy.

Keep checking it out; there could always be some funny part you missed.

By the way, don't click "Crash" on the Start menu. Unlike the other ways Windows RG can crash, it doesn't restart. You have to refresh the page by hitting F5 instead.

It looks like you’re not reposting this entry. I like reposting entries. You should.

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O

Go to my sticky entry for more.
