Do you have any recurring dreams? If so, what do you think it says about your personality? How about your unconscious hopes, fears, and desires?

Answer View Answers

I don't have any full recurring dreams, but there are three recurring themes that show up every now and then. I've previously mentioned two of them as the answer to a similar Writer's Block (and, oddly enough, don't remember having any more of those dreams since then).

The third is playing various Super Mario World levels that are either slightly different from in the actual game, or completely new. (For those who don't know, Super Mario World was one of the first video games [if not the first video game] I played, making it ironic how I didn't realize this was a recurring theme until just now.) In my latest dream like that (which was just last night, actually), I was playing some mix of Super Mario World and Jumping on Mushrooms (a neat backwards Mario game I found 10 months ago). I got to fly backwards but then created a paradox by falling too far. ;)

And no, I wouldn't know what any of these say about my personality or unconscious fears, hopes, or desires.

If you could wake up and spend 24 hours in an online game with any weapons/powers, would you do it? If so, what type of game would you choose, and why?

Answer View Answers

Hmm, I'm not into many online games. For a while, I was into Neopets, Kingdom of Loathing, AdventureQuest, and Club Penguin, but nowadays I'm only into the former two, and even then, only on a "log on once or twice every few months" kind of way.

So, if I had to spend 24 hours in an online game, hm...I'll go with Kingdom of Loathing. Even though it has cussing (which I don't like) whereas Neopets doesn't, at least you don't have to buy virtual money with real money (not since the last time I was on, anyway).

But if I could spend 24 hours in any video game, here are some I might pick:

This guy on SparkLife hates The Scarlet Letter so much that he's writing hilarious summaries of it. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the book somewhat, but these summaries are still hilarious.

Top ten lines so far:

10) "The Governor, Reverend Dimmesdale, Reverend Wilson and creepy husband Chillingworth enter the room and immediately begin talking about Pearl, calling her 'a little bird' and a demon child. Tweet tweet! ROAR!"

9) "The charming man tells [Hester] that he's not interested in her soul; he's going to find out who her baby's father is and get his revenge that way. Then he kills a puppy just so we're absolutely certain that he's a bad guy."

8) "I said I wanted mushrooms! This is pepperoni! I didn’t realize Beelzebub worked in this pizzeria!"

7) "Granted, it's probably the most action-packed description of a door in literary history, but still, that's all that happens."

6) "Pearl calls her mother over to look at the giant suit of armor, which would probably be overkill if you were defending yourself from mud attacks."

5) "The most likely answer is that this chapter picks up immediately, but I like to pretend that a few hours have gone by of the townspeople waiting for something to happen as Hester continues being embarrassed and occasionally asking for a chair."

4) "My knowledge of history during this time is a little shaky, but think of all the much cooler jobs [Nathaniel Hawthorne] could've had: blacksmith, statesman, pirate, dinosaur rider."

3) "If I had known that Hester was going to get super powers from this, doesn't [Hawthorne] think [he] should have called the book The Magic Scarlet Letter or The Super Adulterer?"

2) "Then some kid comes over and gives a three-hour lecture as to why he's going to throw a pinecone at Hester's head."

1) "Feeling a strange sensation, [Hawthorne] presses the letter to his chest and suddenly he gains all the powers of the letter A and goes on to fight crime as A-Man! Defender of alphabetizing!"

Would you sell out for reality TV stardom?
For what amount of money (if any) would you consider appearing on a reality TV show? Which one?

About $∞. The one place I have the biggest worry of making a fool of myself on is TV. (Yes, even more so than the Internet or camp.)

A PC version of Super Mario Bros. with one twist - the whole game is backwards. You start from the flag at the end of the last level (though I wish they implemented the defeating Bowser and rescuing Peach cutscene backwards) and do everything backwards - put coins back where they were, stomp already-flattened Goombas to revive them, etc. It even shows the credits at the beginning. It's tricky because you have to not touch a coin after collecting it backwards, not stomp the same Goomba backwards more than once, not fall farther than you can normally jump, and so on, but it's entertaining all the same.

(If you don't get it, the subject line of this post is a backwards lyric to Mario Twins by Group X)

EDIT: NIP!! Megs and nukes say Nair a-- Flush now so rare purples say air puffs, Ned? See it? No? NARF!!...Yep! Your fish lay hang it note! "Yeah, well, f*** on the easy SNAAARRRR!!" says the open Malfoy! Oh, ow! Yep! Oh, no! (Translation: I beat it! I was disappointed it only had three levels though. Hey, I have an idea: quote backwards Group X again!)

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
