WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Thu, Jan. 17th, 2019 00:16(First off, unrelated to this entry, but before I forget: thanks everyone for all the well-wishes on my previous friends-only entry!)
Good news: I've finally fixed all my entries from 2007-2014!
Bad news: I MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO FIX ANY MORE. I'M UNABLE TO ACCESS ANY PAGE WHERE THE URL BEGINS WITH MATT1993.LIVEJOURNAL.COM. I can access any other page on LJ, including my inbox, etc. - JUST NOT MY OWN JOURNAL OR PROFILE.
I AM FREAKING OUT NOW. PLEASE FIX THIS SOON, LJ. I AM GOING TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT UNLESS THIS IS FIXED.
EDIT: My LJ actually started working again after about the second refresh after I posted this. But I left this entry as is until about 20 hours later because I thought it might stop working again. That, and I wanted to leave it up as a testament to how LJ and DW outages (especially ones that somehow only affect my own journal and profile) don't have to be very long before I panic and have to post entries like this one.

Date: Fri, Jan. 18th, 2019 05:47 (UTC)I haven't always been one to preserve everything - in the past I've deleted things I'd made because I didn't like them as much anymore, but now I'm wishing I hadn't deleted them so I could look back on them - they may not have been so bad after all, and even if they were I'd rather know that for a fact.
I started realizing this before I became active on LJ, so for that reason, I never delete any entry in my journal no matter how cringey I think is (with a few rare exceptions like testing a LJ/DW feature or accidentally posting an entry to the wrong place), and it's rare for me to even decide that something I wrote is so cringeworthy that I should go ahead and delete that part of an entry but leave the rest. This doesn't mean I never think anything I write is cringeworthy - I feel that way about a LOT of things I wrote in the past - it just means that I know if I delete something, there's likely going to be a time that I want/need to go back and see what it said but won't be able to.
And I also know that if I delete one entry, I'm likely going to end up deleting a LOT more entries for similar reasons and end up with only 30 or so entries remaining. This happened to me before with a webcomic I used to write, when I removed the strips I felt didn't make any sense and that ended up being nearly all of them.
You have this huge warning about your imported journal. I am 99.9% sure the only person that cares about the issues with that is you. No one else is looking back or worrying. Everyone expects userpic to fail sooner rather than later because we change things.
That may be true, but I still want the 0.1% of people who might look at entries in others' journals from years ago just for the fun of it (and therefore might happen to pick entries in my DW I haven't fixed yet... or alternately might find them because I link to them in newer entries, because I link to past entries a lot) to be aware that entries I haven't fixed yet might not make sense.
I guess I'm just weird that way.
