HOW is the video below physically possible?!?

"Super Mario Maker Super Creator Challenge: The Game Theorists" (Watch on YouTube)

Let me get this straight. There's a video on Nintendo's OWN YouTube channel where Matthew Patrick (a.k.a. MatPat, a.k.a. the reason your friends are telling you that Mario is mental and are bullying you for playing Mario games) creates a level for Super Mario Maker (one where you have to kill Yoshi, no less)?

This makes me wonder: does Nintendo even KNOW about ANY of the things he's said about Mario that many people are taking WAY too seriously? Because if I worked for Nintendo, I wouldn't think that having the guy who's effectively (intentionally or not) brainwashing fans to hate Nintendo's mascot appear in a video promoting Super Mario Maker (or any other game) would be a good idea.

Telling me that Game Theory's infamous video (the "Why Mario is Mental" one, not the one in this entry) is just a joke is preaching to the choir. :)

But there are enough people who treat that video as 100% fact (which definitely doesn't mean it is or that I think it is!), I'm surprised that when Nintendo decided to have MatPat make a Super Mario Maker level for their channel, no one at Nintendo was like "Uh, this guy's told people that Mario is insane and a lot of people are taking it too seriously... are you sure we should have him appear on our channel?" After all, it took about a decade for Nintendo and Sega's rivalry to end, and Sega wasn't even telling people that Mario was insane - they were just telling people to buy their games instead of Nintendo's.

I also said that it was ironic that MatPat made a level where you have to abandon Yoshi, since he cited Mario abandoning Yoshi (which you never actually have to do in any actual Super Mario World level even for a secret exit or a Dragon Coin; only as a last resort when both Mario and Yoshi are already falling) as one of the reasons for Mario being mental/insane/whatever.


Remember when PETA was protesting Super Mario 3D Land as what they eventually admitted was "a fun way to call attention to a serious issue, that raccoon dogs are skinned alive for their fur"? The only thing I'd see as surprising as MatPat appearing on Nintendo's YouTube channel is if a PETA spokesperson appeared on it.

And I know neither MatPat nor PETA appearing on Nintendo's YouTube channel is (would be) actually paradoxical enough to destroy space-time. I just thought you'd get a kick out of the glitchy paragraph, especially since it has 47 and "moving stones and happiness" in it. :)

I'm not aware of anyone who is ACTUALLY serious about it, it seems to me more like people are just putting it forward as a fun (to them) theory of something that is possible...no different than a video I saw on cracked about the whole X-Files being part of Mulder's insanity instead of things that actually happened. Just a fun fan theory of one possible idea.
