matt1993: (updated prtsc land me)

Decided it was time to update the blurb on my journal's sidebar now that I'm able to move past my worry sometimes. (But not enough that I'm not still waiting desperately for comments on certain entries...)

Anyway, the blurb was previously:

Ever since what I've taken to calling "the Forbidden Comment Threads", which were arguments in [livejournal.com profile] asperger that happened in 2011, I've been afraid that everything I say on LJ could easily be misinterpreted and make everyone hate me and that the threads themselves would eventually get so out of hand that everyone who had an opinion about them would automatically hate anyone with a different opinion.

Thankfully, that has yet to actually happen... but more recently (2014), I discovered a DIFFERENT set of arguments (I'll call them "the Forbidden Comment Threads Ω" for now, despite the existence of a term for them already) that appear to be much more widespread and seem to ALREADY be exactly what I thought the "original" Forbidden Comment Threads would become... O___O

Basically, I'm just a guy who's lately been feeling that ANYTHING he says about ANYTHING could easily become controversial...

And since it's been a while since I've read Square Root of Minus Garfield, I decided to change some of the text in my journal style to reference this instead. :)

Yay for a tiny bit of productivity on LiveJournal! And yay for a public entry!

Yay for productivity on LiveJournal! I've been editing old community entries and tagging them as well. :D

Yes, I probably did see those entries! I know you want comments on your entries, though, but I don't want to say the same thing too many times. ("Yay for an entry!") Keep in mind also that LJ is deader than it was ten years ago, so I certainly don't get many comments on my entries myself. Maybe I should participate in those friending memes that are going on... perhaps you should also, but only if that's your thing!

I know I update a lot myself, but I consistently get comments on Blogthings entries these days, mainly from [livejournal.com profile] endlessblush. That is okay by me, since I keep my journal as a blog for myself to detail what I did in my life.

I know you're not asking for that. I just lurk sometimes!

Your worrying about the Forbidden Comment Threads just makes you want to improve yourself, in a way. If you didn't worry about it years later (given that they are significant to you), I'd be wondering whether you even realized the effects of those on you and others! Since you do, that's good.

I'm glad.

Those come up as valid communities on my computer when I clicked the links, so the links are good! :)

It might sound like that if you updated as often as I do, and then add "COMMENT NOW OR I WILL DELETE YOU" at the end of every entry! I seriously used to know some girl who had a rule about commenting to her journal: "If you don't comment at least once a week, I will delete you!" If I did that, my friends list would consist of two people!

You do not sound like that, and you have not ever sounded like that. I was just giving an example of someone who did sound like that!

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
