It's my party and I'll reference the same song I referenced last year if I wanna

Welp, I have somehow managed to survive everything for 18 whole years. Go me!!

I haven't gotten my birthday presents yet, but I did go gambling for a little while ([livejournal.com profile] awehla, I mentioned in a comment that it'd be tomorrow, but the plans ended up changing). I won $63!!! And we had a party at the autism intervention group I go to!

And, of course, the usual Museum of Accomplishments post:

<s>Cake</s> cut for length )

Also, in addition to today being my birthday, this is my 700th post in this journal!! I was going to celebrate with a list of the subject lines from all 700 entries in my journal (and, for once, even my community entries!), but I left my laptop unplugged while I was typing it, and since my laptop doesn't have a low battery alarm (despite claiming that it does), I lost a lot of it and decided to give up. Maybe for my 800th or 1000th entry?

Play again? Let's hope not.

Now I'm done with all of my homework for this weekend. Yay! That didn't take long. Longer than [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien's estimate of an hour and 45 minutes, but still not long.

Also, yet another profile name change. (When you have a generic username like mine, you feel obligated to at least change your profile name a lot.) Y'see, I wrote my informal essay over the frustration I had been having with my HAS project, and instead of "I couldn't get the converter to convert dates consistently", I put "I couldn't get the converter to consist dates consistently". So my new profile name is "I can't consist consistently." :)

HASta la vista! Oh, and how exactly did my hypercube userpic get associated with finished homework?

I'm finally done with the HAS final project! Yay! See you in the summer, devastatingly hard projects! >:)

Now, to finish my other homework in 6 hours and 9 minutes somehow...

Spread the good news

Now that I've caught up on the Writer's Block questions...

So last Thursday (I think), being a current member of the National Honor Society at my school, I went to the induction ceremony for the new members. Something really funny happened there; the current president of my school's NHS lit the candle that represented the "eternal" light of knowledge, but two candles later, it went out, so I said, "The apocalypse is coming!!"

I don't think I'll get to check my friends page for a while since I'm having to work on the final project for HAS. :(

It's almost over!

I finally submitted my last HAS assignment aside from the final project! Yay!!

Now to get on with my other homework this weekend...

Subject? Um...can I use a lifeline?

So I just now finished my Tuesdays with Morrie project. Yay!! *can have my the last four days of summer in peace*

And I've recently noticed something else that annoys me: the fact that my mom uses whatever is closest to write names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, passwords, and calculations on instead of taking the time to find something blank rather than something that might be important later on. My reasoning: For my Tuesdays with Morrie project, there is a sheet of paper that we have to fill out, and on the back we have to write why we chose the quote we chose. Mom, being... well... Mom, had written on the back of said sheet of paper, and so I had to type up the front side in WordPad instead, print it out, and write on the back of it. I don't know if points will be counted off for it yet.

Now it's Buffy time. And then Mario Party 4 time. (yes, I've recently been going through older games that aren't Super Mario World)

Mondays with Tuesdays with Morrie

I finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie for the project I have to do over the summer.

The good news? I liked the book. I agreed with pretty much everything Morrie said.

The bad news? Starting tomorrow, I have to start working on the project; in case you haven't read the other post about my projects, I have to write an essay (or maybe - hopefully - just a paragraph, I forget) about the most important word, phrase, or sentence from the story.

*sigh*

I is for I saw Sarah Good with the Devil?

I haven't posted about this before, but towards the end of school I was assigned two reading projects to do over the summer. One is about Tuesdays with Morrie, and we have to write about the most important word, phrase, or sentence, and for the other one we get to choose from seven books (I chose The Crucible) and we have to make a posterboard.

So I was working on the latter today, and I was looking for images of some of the main characters and some other things pertaining to the book on Google Images. One thing I searched for is "yellow bird". Look what I got:

Big Bird showing up in a Google search for "yellow bird"

Can you show me how to get, how to get to the witch trials? :P

I admit it's not as funny as this, but...

But she was still MRS. SCHÄCHTER!!!

The funniest three things I ever heard today:

So, I have a project in reading class where I have to pick four quotes in Night that have to do with one of the symbols in the book and explain each quote. I picked fire as the symbol, and had asked [livejournal.com profile] pathvain_aelien if she could help me with it, and she agreed, but then she said she doesn't remember any instances of fire in Night. Then this happened:

ME: (something about the part where Mrs. Schächter says, "Fire! I see a fire! I see a fire!")
PATHVAIN_AELIEN: Wait, what?
ME: You know, that woman on the bus who--
PATHVAIN_AELIEN: Did you just call her Trogdor?

Later on, when pathvain_aelien was getting something:

PATHVAIN_AELIEN'S BOYFRIEND: Come on, Trogdor!

Even later, when we were talking about the project again:

PATHVAIN_AELIEN'S BOYFRIEND: Is Trogdor a symbol?

Sure, the Trogdor comes in the night, but not the one by Elie Wiesel.
