Last year I made up a "predict the future year in review" meme based on https://talktotransformer.com/, which lets you put in a block of text and it tries to predict what comes next.

I was going to only do this once a year like my other year in review memes, but I decided to do another one right now for several reasons:

1) That site is so fun to play with! It'd be a shame to only do so once a year.
2) After my last post in here, I decided I definitely need to at least try to post some more random fun/positive entries like I used to.
3) It'd be a shame to only get to feed the neural network subject lines that happen to be from entries posted in November or December. I decided that after this one, I'm going to do this towards the end of the month every June, September, December, and March. (As long as I remember to, anyway. :P )
4) In times like this, I need now more than ever to at least be able to pretend I can predict the future.

Before I do it for these few months, let's see how far off the mark it was about 2020 so far!

Bold indicates my actual entries; italics indicate what the neural network came up with last time.

Apr 16 2020: I'm still not officially off my hiatus until the pandemic is over, but I need to vent a bit
Apr 23 2020: I'm back
Apr 27 2020: I didn't want to admit this, but I feel that I have to

Well, it got one thing right. I was indeed dead inside in most of March and April (albeit, ironically, a bit less so on that particular day).

But enough about the past. Now let's see the FUTURE!

1) Make a list of the subject lines of your 20 most recent LJ (or DW) entries (not counting the one you are about to post this meme in) along with the dates they were posted in a consistent format. If you posted any backdated or future-dated entries recently, you may exclude them, or you may include them; if you include them, you may include either the actual dates of posting or the dates they are listed as, but regardless, keep them in the order they were actually posted.

In my case, that would be:

Mar 16 2020: The ONLY remaining places we can go to take our minds off the news
Mar 17 2020: Kicked while I'm down for the millionth time
Mar 17 2020: Dos and don'ts of helping me feel better
Mar 18 2020: Day 8
Mar 19 2020: Some things I want to clarify
Mar 20 2020: Day 10
Mar 20 2020: Dear every asteroid that could possibly come near our solar system...
Mar 21 2020: Day 11
Mar 25 2020: :'(
Mar 26 2020: Blah
Mar 26 2020: Archived blurb
Mar 27 2020: Dear everyone who has taken issue the way I have said anything about the coronavirus...
Mar 29 2020: Coronavirus news is finally less confusing!
Mar 30 2020: We're still doomed
Apr 1 2020: April Fools 2020
Apr 4 2020: Dos and don'ts of jokes about the coronavirus
Apr 6 2020: Insert another dumb "distant sparks call to a past still unnamed" joke here
Apr 16 2020: I'm still not officially off my hiatus until the pandemic is over, but I need to vent a bit
Apr 23 2020: I'm back
Apr 27 2020: I didn't want to admit this, but I feel that I have to

2) Try to put that list in the text box at talktotransformer.com. Make sure there is a blank line at the very end so it will not think the last subject line is incomplete.
If it all fits: Good.
If it doesn't all fit: Remove the oldest entry from the list and try again. Repeat until it all fits - and then remove the oldest entry once more, just so the neural network has more room to generate text.

In my case, after this step, the list has March 19 through April 27.

3) Click "Complete text".
If it doesn't add anything to the text: Remove the oldest entry from the list and try this step again.
If it adds to the text: The new text is part of your result, so save it so you can post it.

In my case, it didn't generate anything until I'd abridged the list to March 27 through April 27.

4) If the text you just generated does not have lines with nonexistent dates, invalid dates (e.g. December 47th), or subject lines far too long to be actual subject lines: Append the generated text to the end of your input list (this time, ensure that there is NOT a blank line at the end), remove the oldest subject line, and go back to step 3 to generate more.
(note: Dates that exist, but are out of order, are still valid because they can be seen as backdated entries. And if the last line is truncated, that is also still valid because it is likely to be completed once fed back into the neural network.)
If the generated text DOES have any lines with nonexistent dates, etc.: Your prediction ends here. Now you just need to post it! Oh, and the subject line has to be the first predicted subject line. ;)

Note: You are allowed to censor your result, but only if it turns out to be more mature or inappropriate than what you normally post. And you're only allowed to censor it when you post it - not when you feed the generated text back into the neural network to generate more.

My result:

Mar 27 2020: Dear everyone who has taken issue the way I have said anything about the coronavirus...
Mar 29 2020: Coronavirus news is finally less confusing!
Mar 30 2020: We're still doomed
Apr 1 2020: April Fools 2020
Apr 4 2020: Dos and don's of jokes about the coronavirus
Apr 6 2020: Insert another dumb "distant sparks call to a past still unnamed" joke here
Apr 16 2020: I'm still not officially off my hiatus until the pandemic is over, but I need to vent a bit
Apr 23 2020: I'm back
Apr 27 2020: I didn't want to admit this, but I feel that I have to

May 4 2020: Today is the day to roll the dice
May 6 2020: Instead I rest on laurels
May 11 2020: Honeymoon is over, bye-bye
May 17 2020: What's

At this point I noticed I had a typo in my original list ("don's"), so I started over. But I kept this because it's very fitting that it started putting in gambling references in a year I used to look forward to because of a gambling game. :)

Mar 27 2020: Dear everyone who has taken issue the way I have said anything about the coronavirus...
Mar 29 2020: Coronavirus news is finally less confusing!

May 21 2020: It has been safely transferred, thank you, my noble friends
May 22 2020: We don't know if this is a positive or a negative test result, I wouldn't be interested in it

May 23 2020: I will be represented, I'm afraid
May 25 2020: You can't stop people from having sexual intercourse. There's the law on that
May 25 2020: That said, nobody will be punished for if they have sex
May 27 2020: I look forward to the agenda
May 27 2020: I'm leaving to go to another conference in Berlin
May 27 2020: I'm sorry it's taking me a few days to respond
May 27 2020: I'm off to another conference
May 29 2020: I've decided to stay in Germany because I want to avoid extradition
May 29 2020: I'll be back and will be ready to govern if there's a new way forward, they must feel I'm going to make things better

The last one is too long to be a LJ or DW subject line, so my result ends here. That's a lot of conferences! :P

It's hard to describe this journal in just a few paragraphs... but I'll try

Just an autistic guy born in 1993 (hence the username) who's had this journal since I was 14. Has trouble phrasing things well especially in earlier entries, so keep that in mind.

My interests have fluctuated in the 17 years since I've had this journal, but the following has remained constant:
- I like Mario games (mainly the platformers, Mario Kart, Mario Party) and Super Smash Bros.
- I like Garfield
- I like Homestar Runner
- I like Enya
- And I've always loved the idea of wacky crossovers between ANY of my interests, whether it's in the form of a short-lived webcomic in 2006-2008, a short-lived backwards lyrics site in 2008, writing down weird dreams in 2009-2011, playing Tomodachi Life a lot in 2014-2016, or what most of my posts are about these days: playing around with Character.AI starting in 2023. I still can't believe I'm actually in a world where an AI of Enya can talk to AIs of Mario or Garfield or even my favorite obscure characters like Mary O. from Super Mario Maker. :O
