My 2018 in LJ
https://www.livejournal.com/2018/
Apparently the image that's automatically generated by this feature doesn't stay around forever - it gets replaced every year with the next year's version, so my "2017 in LJ" entry is now showing the 2018 stats. Lame... So if you're reading this a year or more later, my actual 2018 stats were 126 entries posted and 948 comments and likes received.
I don't like it when things get deleted or replaced after only one year or less. If homestarrunner.com took that approach, only one Strong Bad Email would still be on the site by now and it's one that isn't technically counted as a sbemail. If Super Smash Bros. took that approach, NONE of the characters that are in it would be there because all of them - even the most-recently-created ones like Inkling, Corrin, and Incineroar - debuted at least two years before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate came out. </rant>

In other news, I've fixed over 1,000 entries! Yay! :D

Wow, that's some really terrible design! =/ I guess that means you just need to screen cap the image instead of embedding it in the future?

Yeah... I guess it's the sort of thing that'd be okay for people who delete their entries/journal at least once a year, but I'm definitely not one of those people. The only entries I've ever deleted were ones that were only up for a day or less and are predominantly ones I posted in my journal by accident when I meant to post them somewhere else, or private entries I made to test something.
LJ should've at least warned us that they would get replaced every year!

I guess. I already have a screenshot of the 2018 version since I thought that was what I'd already done when I made the 2017 one, but turns out I didn't screenshot the 2017 one (since I didn't think I'd need to, and sometimes I screenshot things I don't think I need to but apparently I didn't with this).
I checked and my "LJ turns 18" one from April 2017 IS a screenshot, so that's good. And that's probably why I thought the 2017 year in review one was a screenshot.
But since there's no way to recover the 2017 image (just the numbers that were on it thanks to my decision to add those to the tags), I don't think I'll bother putting my screenshots of them in the entry for any year - I'll just put the numbers in the body of the entry and be like "if it was replaced already, here's what the stats were this year". If one of them's gonna get replaced every year, I might as well keep it consistent and have them ALL get replaced every year.
I still like LJ over DW overall - I just don't like how LJ implemented the "your <year> in LJ" feature THAT way. :\
